Our Library Learning Commons LLC is open 830-430pm, including lunch. Staff, students and visitors are encouraged to use the LLC and attached meeting room for studying, group collaboration, events, classes, printing, individual work or professional development.

Bishop Macdonell's LLC collection development is ongoing and reflects the curriculum and interests of our school community. Current acquisition of print materials support WCDSB's Equity and Inclusion and Multilingual Learners Program initiatives, as well as Bishop Macdonell's IB Diploma Programme. The expansion of our graphic novel and other collections to include titles in a variety of languages and from diverse voices is intended to support these programs and our entire school community. Links to available eResources, including SORA audio and ebooks, JSTOR, Access Science and Gale Databases can be explored anytime using the Library/Learning Commons (LLC) Online. Students and staff have access to thousands of online journal/news/magazine articles, video resources, and the research and citation tool, NoodleTools 24 hours a day and 7 days a week!

Users may visit the Library Learning Commons on the 2nd floor to borrow books, board games, Netbooks, and phone chargers. Additionally, the LLC has all the materials you will need for poster board projects, or found poetry, as well as a pencil or calculator for those math tests. 

Borrowing periods:

  • Books are due at the end of the semester. NOTE: Books that have been recalled are due immediately.
  • Netbooks and electronics (phone chargers/head phones) remain at the school and are due daily by 4pm. Devices may be returned to the office, if the Library Learning Commons is closed.
  • Games may be borrowed for 3 days. NOTE: Chess, UNO, playing cards are due daily.

Printing is also available to students ($0.10/pg). black and white printing only
