Territorial Land Acknowledgement

From the Anishinaabe to the Haudenasaunee and the Métis, these treaty lands are steeped in rich indigenous history and modern traditions. As a community, we have the responsibility to honour and respect the four directions, land, waters, plants, animals and ancestors.

Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. We would like to acknowledge that we are gathered on the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation of the Aanishinaabek Peoples and we would like to express our gratitude for sharing these lands for our mutual benefit.

Bishop Macdonell Secondary School covers the ancestral and traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territories.
